Jaga Jazzist â€“ Pyramid

Our album of the week comes from Oslo-based nujazz outfit Jaga Jazzist. Their ninth album and first for BRAINFEEDER Records, ‘Pyramid’ features four absorbing, futuristic tracks where jazz chops and electronic production meet.

Classic Album

Recorded in May 1970 during the latter half of Dexter Gordon’s years in Europe, Some Other Spring hears vocalist Karin Krog joined by the tenor saxophonist, pianist Kenny Drew, bassist Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen, and drummer Espen Rud. The group play an eclectic set including ‘Blue Monk’ and ‘How Insensitive’, forging musical relationships that would continue after the session.
