Formed almost 10 years ago as a regular workshop & performance of Manchester's creative music scene to trial new compositions for large ensemble, the Manchester Jazz Collective returns with a monthly residency at The Yard after a 5-year-long hiatus!

Set up like a 'skinny' jazz orchestra with 7 horns & rhythm section, the collective's soundworld can spread from orchestral textures to driving small jazz ensemble and encompasses a vast array of sonic nooks & crannies in between...

Appearing at festivals & clubs across the North of England, they have gained a reputation for high octane performances, with soaring melodies, intense soloing, and good humour. There will be a host of new music written specially for this gig, perhaps alongside a smattering of the collective's greatest hits - so come and join us for what is sure to be an exciting and exhilarating night of music!
