Tom Ollendorff Quartet ft. Aaron Parks

  • The Yard 11 Bent Street Manchester United Kingdom (map)

Virtuoso guitarist Tom Ollendorff latest tour brings NYC-based piano legend Aaron Parks to Manchester in an exceptionally rare visit from Parks! Aaron has already had an illustrious career, rocketing to prominence in Terence Blanchard’s Grammy winning band at the age of 18, and performing/recording with so many luminaries on the global jazz scene, inc. Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ambrose Akinmusire, Gretchen Parlato, Joshua Redman, Billy Hart, Marcus Miller and many, many more besides…

His debut release Invisible Cinema came via Blue Note Records to great international acclaim, which has been followed by releases for European super-label ECM and several self-released forward-looking gems. Aaron’s writing and performance are characterised by an expansive impressionistic palette, in which space and subtlety are a priority, “something half-dreamed, half-remembered”.

Having forged a great name for himself touring with great musicians on the UK scene, Tom Ollendorff has gained an international following through his self-led collaborations with two of the world’s modern greats, Ari Hoenig & Ben Wendel. This latest coming together of leading lights on either side of the Atlantic is sure to be a beautiful night of the highest quality music around, with the band being completed by two of the UK’s most exciting musicians - Conor Chaplin on bass & James Maddren on drums.

Tom Ollendorff - guitar

Aaron Parks - piano
